The Vixens put in a gritty and disciplined display to earn a well deserved 1-0 victory in their second league match against Anstey Nomads this season.

From the first whistle, the defensive unit was outstanding, staying alert to nullify Anstey’s constant long-ball threat. Their speed, awareness, and smart positioning kept the opposition at bay throughout. On the rare occasions the Nomads broke through, the Vixens’ goalkeeper was there with brave, committed stops, putting her body on the line to help secure another clean sheet.

A slightly adjusted midfield setup showed just how adaptable this Vixens squad is, with no dip in performance. The players worked tirelessly, linking up well and maintaining control for much of the first half, with possession largely in the opposition’s half. Despite this, the sides went in level at the break.

The second half saw more of the same calm, composed play. A well-worked move involving sharp passing, a switch of play, tidy footwork, and a pinpoint cross was capped off by a confident, composed finish from Amber — a goal that ultimately sealed the result.

Despite the low scoreline, the match was packed with action. The Vixens combined strong defending, quality goalkeeping, smart combination play through the middle, and unselfish work up front to earn a hard-fought win over a resilient Anstey team.

🏆Player of the Match was Sienna Virgo – for her tenacious, intelligent defending and leadership at the back under constant pressure. A brilliant performance, well deserved!

Well done, Vixens — once again showing quality, effort, and excellent team spirit! 💪
